Here’s a freaky, somnolent tune from a private-press 78, probably from the 1950s. I can’t tell you much about it except that Hal “King Of The Organ” Pearl was this guy, and that I’ve referenced the Aragon Ballroom before, which was here. Having canaries *sing* along with drowsy roller-rink organ music was a LAME gimmick, but I keep coming back to this track. There’s something ghost-y and otherwordly about it that grabs me – I don’t know what, but it’s best not to think too deeply about such things.
